I love being a Black woman. However, being a Black woman in America has its uncomfortable conflicts. Not claiming DuBois’s “double consciousness”, just stating that sometimes, we as Black women to need to examine ourselves, and make sure that we are not so Americanized that one cannot distinguish us from the “enemy”. The “great white savior” and the “great western savior” bear little difference. , and that is important when considering the Western world of which we Black women are (unless carefully and constructively removed) a part.

reading A Time to Kill
cuz you know you can get books for free at the library.
I got this for my mom. She used to always read me the book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. The repeated line in the book says, “I’ll love you forever. I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” I decided this tattoo was a nice dedication to her.
